DESCRIPTION:What’s the best way to celebrate the scary season? Ghost stories by firelight\, of course! TAMS is proud to present a presentation of increasingly creepy tales for all ages. Locally\, he is known for his long association with the fine\, fierce work of the Celebration Company at the Station Theatre under the artistic direction of Rick Orr. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDavid Butler has been part of the C-U theatre scene for 35 years on stage\, in the tech booth\, and in the pit for dozens of musicals. Next month will find him providing (probably) not-so-creepy guitar sounds for “Dear Evan Hansen” at Parkland’s Miner Theatre. Thanks to TAMS\, and especially Joi and Justin\, for the opportunity to help usher in the spooky season! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nChelsea Collier has been a member of the CU theater community for 15 years\, appearing onstage in Pride and Prejudice\, Blithe Spirit\, and It’s a Wonderful Life\, and directing Young Frankenstein\, The Last Five Years\, and White Christmas\, among others. She recently completed her third master’s degree\, an MS in Library and Information Sciences from the University of Illinois. She is an avid crafter\, and enjoys trivia\, escape rooms\, and board games. Thank you to Abby and Joi for this opportunity\, and to Kathy and Charlie for their love and support. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJace Jamison has been in community theatre for nearly 20 years now\, and is excited to be joining this fantastic group of local stars for a delightful reading. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJW Morrissette is the Associate Head of the Department of Theatre at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has served in the Department of Theatre for 30 years. He has served as chair of the BFA Theatre Studies Program\, the Assistant Head for Academic Programs\, as well as the Assistant Program Coordinator for INNER VOICES Social Issues Theatre. He worked for Stuart Howard and Associates Casting in New York\, interning as a casting assistant for many Broadway productions and television commercials. Morrissette taught and directed for 23 years with the summer Theatre Department at Interlochen Center for the Arts. In 2025\, Morrissette received the King Broadrick-Allen Award for Excellence in Honors Teaching. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLibya Pugh an actor\, educator\, and yoga instructor with over three decades of experience in theater\, television\, and film. Her recent stage credits include Richard III (Chicago Shakespeare) This Land Was Made (Vineyard Theatre) and How to Catch Creation (Geva Theatre). She has appeared on television in FBI\, Law & Order\, and Jessica Jones. She has an MFA from the University of Illinois and a BFA from the University of Louisiana-Lafayette. She is currently a Professor in Acting at U of I. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJoi Hoffsommer is pleased to be a founding board member of TAMS and thrilled to participate as director for the Halloween reading\, Bump in the Night. Retired from her job as the Artistic and Theatre Program Director for Parkland College Theatre\, she now has time to devote to other theatre endeavors and life adventures. Teaching classes with Tom\, her husband of 46 years\, for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute and travel have been features of her life lately. Traveling around the country to festivals to perform in Tom’s adaptations of works by Tennessee Williams has filled many days and weeks. Caring for her two beautiful grandsons\, Sawyer and Jack\, however\, is the highlight of every day. She recently appeared in Carnaval! and Lyric Under the Stars at Illinois. Some of her favorite previous roles include Deloris Van Cartier (Sister Act)\, Carrie White (Carrie)\, and the Witch (Into the Woods). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nJack Bertrand is a theatre educator\, director\, musician\, and performer based in Urbana. He teaches Theatre Arts and directs the Comet Theatre program at Edison Middle School. Recent stage credits include Come From Away\, Head Over Heels\, and The Wedding Singer\, and he also serves as music director for The Station Theatre’s upcoming production of Dogfight. Jack holds a master’s degree in choral conducting and is currently pursuing his PhD in Music Education at the University of Illinois. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Lara Brooks is a dynamic soprano\, educator\, and director celebrated for her versatility across opera\, musical theatre\, jazz\, and contemporary music. Her performances include roles such as Mother in Ragtime\, Rosalie Mullins in School of Rock\, Mabel in The Pirates of Penzance\, and Tytania in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Dr. Brooks is a sought after clinician who has shared her expertise at conferences and symposiums around the world\, with a particular focus on contemporary vocal pedagogy. She serves as Clinical Assistant Professor of Voice & Lyric Theatre at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and is an Estill Master Trainer®. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nKari Croop is grateful to be performing again after a two-year hiatus from local theater filled with full-time corporate tech drama and the demands of being a mom to three busy triplet teens. Credits include Mary Poppins (Mary Poppins\, CUTC)\, Cinderella (Into the Woods\, CUTC)\, Madame de la Grande Bouche (Beauty and the Beast\, CUTC)\, Eulalie Shinn (The Music Man\, CUTC)\, Aunt Em/Glinda (The Wizard of Oz\, CUTC)\, Eleanor Roosevelt (First Lady Suite\, Parkland)\, Mother (A Christmas Story: The Musical\, CPD)\, Dead Mum (Billy Elliot/Twin City) and the Acid Queen (The Who’s Tommy\, CUTC). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPaige Greve is thrilled to be starting her senior year as a Lyric Theatre Major at The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign! She is currently studying under the direction of Professor Dawn Harris and Professor Sarah Wigley. You may have previously seen her in Lyric Theatre @ Illinois productions of 35mm: A Musical Exhibition\, Under the Stars\, Carnaval!\, and Black Square at Krannert Center for the Performing Arts. Her other previous works include Julia in Oberacker and Taylor’s Bandstand\, Elizabeth in Oberacker and Taylor’s pilot production of Ace\, Celia in Shakespeare’s As You Like It\, and Foreman in Twelve Angry Men. These productions were performed under the direction of Rebecca Marianetti\, Matthew Bourke\, and John Forsythe at York Community High School. Recent credits include Ragtime and The Little Mermaid with upcoming performances for Come From Away.
